Yes, the city is very walkable! A lot of the main things to do in Nuremberg are in the old town so you can easily explore many of the main on foot. We only took public transit to visit the Palace of Justice and the Nazi Party Rally Grounds.
We recommend 2 days to see Nuremberg and 3 if you’d like to do a day trip. While many of the tourist attractions are in the Old Town, some other sites like the Documentation Center, Nazi Party Rally Grounds, and Palace of Justice are further out so if you want to include these sights, you might need another day.
Nuremberg is located in the state of Bavaria, in the south of Germany.
Yes! Nuremberg is definitely worth visiting and adding to your Germany itinerary. Given its rich history and well-preserved architecture, there’s a lot of beautiful places to visit in Nuremberg like the Imperial Castle, the city walls, the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds, the Palace of Justice…and of course its famous Christmas markets in December.
Sometimes. You’re the most likely to get snow in Nuremberg from December to February. But it doesn’t snow every year.
Yes, Nuremberg is safe for tourists! In general, Germany is quite a safe destination. But as with any destination, it’s important to always take standard safety precautions like being mindful of your belongings and staying alert of your surroundings, especially in more touristy areas.
